Project Description

Wood Destroying Organism (WDO) Inspection Course

This course takes students through all the steps to successfully complete a WDO inspection (13645 form) according to the standards set by the pest control industry and the Florida Department of Agriculture.  For the final activity, students will perform an actual WDO inspection and complete the 13645 form for that inspection.  Topics include:

  • Learn the laws and liabilities regarding 13645 inspections
  • How to look for WDO damage, evidence, and live WDO’s
  • What is NOT a WDO
  • Learn the industry baseline practices
  • Complete a 13645 form for an inspection you perform at our structure on site

  • Course is Thursday 8AM to 5PM, and Friday 8AM to noon.
  • Cost is $235.00 for the course.
  • Lunch is provided Thursday (no extra charge).
  • All courses are taught at the UF MREC campus in Apopka, FL.

Wood Destroying Organism (WDO) Inspection Course

There are no prerequisites for this course.  However, we highly recommend taking the Termite Foundations course first if you are not very familiar with termites and WDO pests.  This will allow you to focus on learning the details of the inspections and not get overwhelmed trying to also learn a dozen pests at the same time.

Planning on becoming a Certified Pest Control Operator (CO) in Florida?

You can now take the state exam here at Pest Management University.  Friday afternoon (immediately following any of the Master’s level courses) the Florida Department of Agriculture (FDACS) will come in and offer a special session of the state certified operator exam to those that qualify.  We cover all the key points at Pest Management University that the state of Florida bases their certified operator exam on.  PMU students have a 100% pass rate on the state termite exam.  There are no additional fees charged by us at PMU.  You only pay the FDACS exam fee.
